CRCM Flying Safety Rules and Guidelines

(Updated on November 26, 2022)

Call out before you do any of the following:

Take off

Landing

Dead Stick

Touch and Go

On the Field

Clear

1. The yellow line on the runway closest to the safety fence is a “No Cross Boundary Line”. When flying, keep your aircraft to the far side of that line at all times.

2. Do not fly over the “No Fly Zones” (see map).

3. Do not fly over the waste ponds.

4. Delay taking off while people are on the bike path.

5. Maintain a safe altitude while over the bike path.

6. All takeoffs and landings will be done into the wind.

7. All aircraft traffic pattern: To reduce the chance of a mid-air collision, all aircraft should use the centerline of the runway as a point of reference. Please try to avoid flying over the nearest half of the runway as it is considered to be a safety buffer zone (see diagram). The direction of the traffic pattern will be determined by wind direction.

8. When possible, all aerobatic flying including 3-D and IMAC should be done over the dirt south of the runway, (not the centerline). Try to stay outside of the active traffic pattern when other planes are flying.

9. Flying low over the runway is not permitted unless you call out “Touch and Go” or “Landing”.

10. Single person flying:

You may do low passes over the runway at any time.

You may fly the traffic pattern in any direction you want regardless of wind direction.

You may do aerobatics, 3-D and IMAC over the runway.

11. The yellow line on concrete by the ramadas is a no cross line for spectators.
